Hey guys, this is NOT peak oil related. So those of you who think
we're crazy, don't discount this just because I'm the one telling you.
First, let me say I am very worried about New Orleans and all the
people in this storm's path. I can't do anything for them, but
what I can do is try to look out for my friends.
Storm aims for heart of U.S. oil industry: gas prices may jump sharply.
This hurricane, if it takes the path they're predicting, is probably
going to raise gas prices. A lot. Aside from all the rigs
and refineries in its path, 1/3 of the U.S.'s oil imports come
through Louisiana. I know a lot of us are stretched pretty tight
as it is. Those of you who don't have a lot of extra money lying
around, I'd recommend filling up soon. |
